Programs
Peace practices and objects are used to resolve conflict and maintain peace within and between communities. LPM promotes these practices by working with elders and artists to bring these traditions to the wider public.
We offer interactive workshops and presentations to help spread awareness of peace heritage traditions and provide a space for meaningful dialogue.
Events
LPM organized our first annual World Peace Day event on September 21, 2025. The event featured Dr. Sultan Somjee, founder of the Community Peace Museums of Eastern Africa, who spoke about the “Sensing of Utu”. The event included a peace staff ceremony, a peace walk, a talking circle discussion, children’s art activities and a pot luck lunch.

Workshops
LPM periodically offers Ikebana workshops. Join us for an afternoon to learn about this ancient Japanese art, its symbolism, and how it nurtures our sense of balance and harmony.
LPM is currently working on additional workshops that promote cultural peace traditions still in practice today. Check back with us to learn more!
